Frequently Asked Questions
DO I NEED TO BE A 1:1 CLASSROOM?
Nope! As long as you and your students have access to a device with internet connectivity, you have access to the product. Some students use their own phones, others check out shared laptops or tablet devices when needed.
WHAT DEVICE DO I NEED?
We recommend teachers use a desktop or laptop, something with a bigger screen to see students’ work and leave feedback.
Students can use any device that has internet connectivity and a browser (phones, tablets, laptops).
We also have student iOS and Android apps coming soon.
HOW DO I ADD A NEW FEEDBACK COMMENT?
There are two ways to add a new feedback comment.
- Click directly on the picture and the text box will pop up for you to type in your comment. These comments can be saved to a comment bank.
- Drag and drop previously saved comments from the comment bank. Click, drag, and release a comment from the bank to the desired spot on the picture.
WHATS THE RESEARCH BEHIND THIS FEEDBACK METHOD?
Research backs the importance of feedback; building off of John Hattie’s work comparing factors of learning, Evidence for Learning’s toolkit ranks feedback as having the highest impact out of their 34 approaches (along with meta-cognition) with a +8 months’ impact on students’ learning progress.
WHAT FILE FORMATS CAN I UPLOAD?
We accept image formats (ie. .png, .jpg) and PDF files. Please note that uploading PDFs is web only- it's not yet available on the iOS app! In the future, we plan on adding additional file types like .doc and .docx. You can select files from your device or connect to your Google Drive account. For digital documents, we recommend saving them as PDF files or using screenshot and snipping tools that will save them as images. For physical work, we recommend taking a picture of the work.
HOW DO I RESUBMIT?
Students can re-submit at any time by clicking into the assignment and clicking on the re-submit button. Their various versions are tracked.
CAN I DO FREEFORM WRITING?
We currently don’t support freeform feedback writing, but it's on our future features list!
We apologize for any technical difficulties that occur! There's a bug report button in the app so please submit your issue. We'll keep you updated and fix it ASAP. Then try closing the app or browser and sign in again.
